Our Facilities - Sports Facilities

Yarrambat Primary School has worked hard to provide the very best built environment for children to learn and play within.
Our extensive sporting facilities include:

The multi-purpose gym is one of our most precious assets and is used mostly for our specialist Health and Physical Education programs and Interschool Sport. It provides a flexible learning space having 3/4 sized basketball and netball court, as well as volleyball and badminton court markings. As it is fully enclosed it enables PE sessions to continue even if there is inclement weather. The gym is also utilised by our Before and After School Care Program and for our fortnightly indoor school assemblies.

The Yarrambat Phantoms Basketball Team also use the gym to conduct training sessions after school.

Front Oval:

Our front oval has an artificial ‘Tigerturf’ surface and provides a safe and enjoyable area for students to play on all-year-round. It consists of a running track, oval and long jump pit. The running track is 200m long with 2 lanes. Inside the tracks is a marked soccer field, cricket pitch and a set of AFL goal posts down each end. These facilities are used by our local sport clubs including the Little Athletics Club and Yarrambat Football Club. Over the weekend our local community is welcome to enjoy the oval, but please remember no food, dogs or golf please.

Bat Tennis Courts and Cricket Nets:

This area, at the front of the school, also has an artificial ‘Tigerturf’ surface and consists of 5 bat tennis courts, cricket nets and 4 basketball rings. It provides students with a choice of extra playing spaces and caters specifically for our Interschool Sports’ needs. This area is utilised by the local Yarrambat Junior Cricket Club for their training sessions.

Basketball Court:

This full sized outdoor basketball and netball court allows students to play various games during lunchtime as it has moveable rings as well as markings for four square. It provides the perfect setting to cater for our Interschool Sport basketball games.

Tennis Court:

The tennis court area has an artificial ‘Tigerturf’ surface and is used for tennis lessons provided by an accredited coach. It is also used for Interschool Sport netball games due to its markings. As this outdoor area is fully fenced, it provides our younger students with an attractive and safe environment to play various ball games at lunch. This area is utilised by the local Netball club to run their training sessions.
